February 2006
Dear
Friends and Family,
As many of you know in the last few years our family has become
heavily involved with missions work including local, domestic and
international involvement. This is a direct answer to our
prayers. The Lord wants us to open our hearts to help others around
us. Recently we have been called to help in various ways but most
importantly we feel we have been called to truly love our
neighbors. This love has manifested in examples including:
Hurricane relief in the Bahamas, Tsunami Relief in Sri Lanka,
hosting a large youth group from Marsh Harbour Bahamas visiting
Tennessee, Katrina support in the Gulf and evacuees support in
Middle Tennessee, streamlining operational procedures for Disaster
Relief trips, Room In The Inn for Middle Tennessee’s homeless, and
housing developments for the underprivileged here in Franklin, TN.
In 2006 we will be trying something extremely out of character for
our family. We are asking for your prayers and financial support.
We know God is leading us to serve in at least two areas this year
and we will trust in Him that the provisions will be made. Our two
known projects this year are a large-scale Vacation Bible School in
a remote area in the Bahamas and a mission trip to India.
Bahamas:
This will be our first family mission trip. I will be leading a team
to Marsh Harhour Bahamas to put on a VBS for 300 to 400 Bahamian and
Haitian children. This will be an incredible trip for our family
but also is the first of many projects for years to come in this
area. I have been incredibly lucky to be a part of a wonderful
partnership with our church, the Nashville Presbytery, and the
Bahamas Evangelical Church Association. The VBS will be the launch
of a much broader comprehensive community development project which
would include a Haitian re-location housing development, Theology
training for current and future leaders, and after school programs
just to name a few.
India:
In April I will be traveling to India with two of our Sr. Pastors.
India is one of our churches four focus area’s where we will be
delivering funding to our Missionaries in the field. Not only will
we be delivering needed financial support but also emotional
support. We need to provide encouragement to them and learn more
about their needs and the needs of the people. We will see first
hand what God is doing in that region and bring that information
back to share and educate others.
As you know trips of this magnitude incur quit a bit of expense. Our
goal is to raise $5500 or more as soon as we can. If you are able
to assist please forward any funds to our home address (payable to
Christ Community Church). All contributions are tax deductible.
Thank you for your love and support for us.
Devin, Kristin, Alex and Lauren

All funds received for these trips are considered as
gifts to Christ Community Church. While the gift that you make will
be credited to our portion of the funds required for the trips, in
the event that we are unable to participate all monies raised will
be used by the Church to offset the costs incurred for the trip or
to fund the ministries on the field where we are going to serve.
